This is an absorbing, dense essay by cyberpunk novelist Bruce Sterling on a contemporary movement in the avant-garde which concerns itself with the “eruption of the digital into the physical”. Sterling is excited about the way the New Aesthetic explores a meaningful change in the way we live, but faults its proponents for being agglomerative curators rather than discerning critics.

Perceptive review of Dominick Fernow’s new record — like recent Prurient, it’s very intense despite its subtlety. I’m also enjoying the obvious Muslimgauze influence, of course.
