In the same way that there was that “cool-Springsteen” fad a couple years ago, and the way chillwave re-vogued tacky 80s sonics, this is worthy of rehabilitation. Lots of his music is pretty corny but Knopfler has some pretty good moments when he’s on. I love the mimetic guitar parts here — “when the time bell rings” / (clang!)
